It goes without saying that all of our rescues get the love they deserve but this group needed a little extra help. One of the boys was born with a deformity in a front leg and was having a bit of trouble getting picked on by his brothers and sisters. We were able to keep him close to us and things eventually relaxed a bit.

This also gave us a unique opportunity to combine our loves for puppies and my 3D modeling and printing hobby.

Unfortunately because the limb was so small it was very difficult to get the prosthetic to stay on properly. With more time I’m sure we could have figured something out. Luckily the whole litter was adopted quickly.

This was by far the largest breed litter we have had. Mom was an angel indeed.

Having 4 boys and 4 girls in this one made the naming choice easy. There was some internal debate on final selections and with a vote we chose to go with Alice instead of Carol. There was also a strong contingent to name on of the boys Tom, but we chose to stick with the TV theme instead of American football.

Mama is Shelby. Girls are Polly, Aida, Lizzy and Gracie. Boys are Tommy, Arthur, Finn and Alfie. They all look pretty much identical.

What a way to celebrate the holidays with four reindeer puppies:  Donner, Blitzen, Comet and Cupid and although super adorable, they were a handful – 4 boy puppies!

 

 

Here is Maisy named after the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.  Her puppies are Abe, Susie and Rose.  Maisy gave birth in our house and honestly, we did nothing.  She gave birth overnight and we woke up to these beautiful puppies next to her.

Pug puppies were just so much fund to care for and yes, pugs snore!

 

When the Mermaid litter was rescued in February 2020, Ariel, the mama was so nervous and skeptical of us.  She did not trust anyone or anything.  She was three years old when we took her home with her four puppies: three boys (all beige) and a girl (white and spots of beige).

 

 

 

 

Ariel looked at us like there is no way you are getting anywhere near me to my puppies.

 

 

It took a few hours but after a bit, she started to trust us once she was properly fed and had some water, along with a safe place to keep her pups.

It was almost a sense of relief once she was able to trust us.

Lots of exercise outdoors for them too.

This is Angel and her puppies.  She is a puppy herself at less than one year old.  They told us she was 9 months old when we went to go rescue her with her one day old puppies.  She has five boys and one girl.  Angel was just 7 lbs when she was pregnant with all her puppies so she was severely malnourished and she was so frightened when we first brought her home.  In fact, she bit at us and was super protective but in time, with lots of hug, she learned to trust us and feel more comfortable.  She and the puppies are all thriving and doing great.

This was her freedom ride home On March 13, 2020.

She was really nervous and skeptical of any humans.  She had her puppies just the night before we picked her up.
